The Trail Race
The Course
The trail races are on the converted Chaparral Trail. The trail was used as the railroad right-of-way and now converted to a multi-use trail. The race begins at the historic Onion Shed, a restored building from the 1930s that was once used a loading dock for the onion industry.
The first 2.5 miles of the route is paved and when that ends, expect a crushed-stone surface for trail running. The out and back route is flat and fast and is partially covered under a canopy of trees and beautiful country scenic views that feels remote and forested.
